One thing Airlie Beach does well is nightlife, and the music scene in Airlie Beach is thriving every night of the week. You can get your fix of live music in the main street of Airlie Beach, but there are also some venues further afield that are worth a visit too.
Paddy’s Shenanigans
Airlie’s one and only Irish pub is a must visit when in the Whitsundays. With two stages, there is live music every night, starting in the early evening. A solo artist will often warm up the crowd on the intimate front stage, before a band takes the rear stage to party well into the early hours of the morning.
KC’s
Known as Airlie’s original live music venue, KC’s has music for dinner every night and longer on weekends. The small stage in the centre of the restaurant makes for a loud atmosphere, but the steaks are worth it.
Anchor Bar
Fancy a swim with your live music? Head up the hill of Golden Orchid Drive to Anchor Bar, at Whitsunday Terraces. Patrons are welcome to swim in the main pool right next to the bar and restaurant, so you can enjoy a cold one, a swim and some live music on weekends.
Sorrento’s
Coral Sea Marina is a 10 minute walk from town along the beautiful boardwalk. There’ll be live music every weekend, while you enjoy one of the best sunsets in town. Also an Italian restaurant, their pizzas are amazing, and they have a 2 for 1 deal in the afternoons.
Magnums
Right in the middle of the main street, you can’t miss Magnums. It’s the biggest of the main street pubs, and offers an impressive calendar of some of the country’s best music acts, who all clamour to play here when touring Australia. There are three possible live music stages inside and out, so often there is more than one act playing at night on weekends. For big acts, you must buy tickets in advance.
The Pub
Featuring some of Australia’s best tribute acts, keep an eye on the events calendar for The Pub, at the Airlie Beach Hotel on the Esplanade. This vibrant venue is great casual spot to catch up with friends, listen to some live music, and enjoy the views across the road to the main beach at Airlie Beach.
Airlie Beach Music Festival
Have you heard of the Airlie Beach Festival of Music? Held every November, it is a 4 day weekend showcasing 74 acts across multiple venues. The town comes alive with music and you can wander the main street discovering new artists, and partying to old favourites from late morning to early morning! Check out the line up and come to Airlie Beach in November!
